Arsenal great Kanu reflects on 'special' legends clash with AC Milan

Arsenal great Nwankwo Kanu has described playing for the Arsenal Legends in a charity game against Milan Glorie as a wonderful experience.

The former Nigerian star predicted that he would score a hat-trick in the game, and he went on to score three times in the 4-2 win at the Emirates Stadium on the weekend.

When asked about the experience, Kanu told Arsenal Player: "It was a wonderful one.

"The most important thing was to support The Arsenal Foundation and I believe we achieved that. It was so special. It has been so long.

"The good thing is that they [the fans] always give you a cheer when you need it. When they show you love, you show them love."

He added that both teams produced a good standard of game and wanted to win: "AC Milan are a very big team, and we had to make sure the fans enjoyed it and Arsenal won.

"It was important to win. We thought it was something we could just come here to do and chill out and relax but that is not the way it turned out. It turns out everyone wants to win - they wanted to win and we wanted to win and I thought we had the upper hand."

Finally, he opened up about his hat-trick prediction- "It is always a good thing to say something and do it. When I said it, I had a feeling I was going to do it. Luckily it happened, so it is so special."
