Arsenal will be told they must wait if they firm up their interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Julian Brandt.

The Gunners are said to be eyeing the Germany international as an alternative to Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Fussball Transfers says Arsenal's interest is genuine, though they face frustration if they wish to sign Brandt in January.

BVB chief Michael Zorc is reluctant to do business midseason and instead would prefer to wait until June.

Brandt, 24, has a contract with BVB to 2024.
