Arsenal expected to raise offer after Brighton reject opening move for White

Brighton have rejected an offer from Arsenal for defender Ben White.

The 23-year-old is currently with England's squad for Euro 2020 after fine season with Albion.

A number of clubs are interested in White, and Arsenal have made their move with a £40m offer.

The bid was knocked back by Brighton but the Gunners are expected to return with a higher offer, according to The Sun.

The Seagulls are seeking something closer than £50m for their academy graduate.

White first caught the attention of Premier League clubs after an excellent season with Leeds United.

Manchester United and Liverpool have both been monitoring White's situation.
