Flamengo are very keen to sign Pablo Mari on a loan deal from Premier League giants Arsenal.

The Gunners have not used Mari too much this term, with the 28-year-old unhappy about his status within the team.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Mari would be happy to go out on loan for regular football.

Flamengo and Mari have previous history, with the player spending six months there and winning both the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Copa Libertadores.

However, Gunners director Edu is reluctant to lose a valuable back up in defence for an entire year.
