Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen says the Gunners are serious about their Premiership prospects this season and are in the race for the long haul.
The Belgian, who has been impressive in his first three months in England, says Arsenal have laid the foundations for a full-on title tilt with their brilliant early-season form and warned rivals they have no intention of stopping.
"If we look at the rankings, we are second and it is a message to other teams that we are involved in the race to be champions," he said.
"It is good that we have had a good series of games, it is important to continue and stay focused on every game because there are a lot of important games."
