Arsenal defender Stephan Lichtsteiner admits they paid for not taking their chances against Brighton.
Sunday's 1-1 draw has all but ended Arsenal's top four hopes.
Lichtsteiner said: “We didn't take our chances, we had big chances and could have had two or three goals in the first half.
“Then it was 1-1 on the counter-attack. Unfortunately football is like this if you don't score. We had the chances to score the second goal and we didn't do it. Football is not so easy. We tried everything.
“We really deserved to win but we have big quality and big character, we will show that on Thursday [in the Europa League]."
On Arsenal's slim top-four hopes, he added: “Until it is finished everything is possible so we will try everything in the Premier League."
