Arsenal are set to cough up an extra bonus to Flamengo after Thursday night's meeting with Crystal Palace.
Mikel Arteta's decision to welcome Pablo Mari back to the heart of Arsenal's defence is set to come at a cost to the Gunners.
Mari has made three appearances in the top flight so far this campaign, partnering Rob Holding at centre back.
And if Mari is selected for the Gunners' home match against Crystal Palace on Thursday as expected, Arsenal will have to pay £900,000 to his former club Flamengo, report Globo Esporte.
This is because as part of the deal that saw Mari convert his loan move into a permanent stay, Arsenal must pay the Brazilian club £900,000 for every ten appearances he makes for the Gunners, up to 80 games.
With Mari's contract not thought to expire until 2024, it would be no surprise to see the Gunners pay the full amount.
