Arsenal defender Gabriel Maghalhaes admits the technical quality of teams in the Premier League required some adaptation on his part.
Gabriel arrived from Lille in the summer in a big money deal.
The centre-half has slotted into Mikel Arteta's first team, but there have been some growing pains.
"In France, the football is more physical than in England," he told the Daily Mail.
"There is more technique here, but my experiences in France and Brazil have prepared me to face any type of attacker."
On living in the English capital, Gabriel added: "I love London, but I also like to be at home.
"I'm not a guy who likes to go out. I stay at home and play a lot of Call of Duty. My life has always been focused on training first, and becoming a better player, then having fun."
