Arsenal defender David Luiz has declared a willingness to return to Benfica.

After it emerged that Luiz's contract with the Gunners only runs to June, the Brazilian was again in the Portuguese press yesterday opening the door to a return to former club Benfica.

He told A Bola: “I already spoke with (Benfica president Luiz Felipe) Vieira about returning.

"This will happen if the president allows me, and the fans want me to come back."

Luiz hasn't heard from Arsenal about extending his current deal.
