Holding could be sidelined for up to nine months after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Wednesday's 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old centre back landed awkwardly after being challenged by Rashford during the first half.
He stated on social media: "Marcus has reached out to me.
"We are just to (sic) Manc lads luckily (sic) enough to be against each other at OT.
"What happens after is just part of football. It's all love & my aim is to be back better than before."
