Arsenal consider hijacking Newcastle deal for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa

Arsenal are threatening Newcastle United's deal for Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. The Daily Mail says Arsenal will make a decision in the next 48 hours over their plot to hijack Newcastle's move for Yanga-Mbiwa.

The Magpies have agreed a £6.7m fee with the French club for the versatile defender and he is expected to fly over early this week to discuss personal terms.

The Gunners have made discreet overtures in an attempt to discover how far down the line Yanga-Mbiwa's move to St James' Park has gone.
