Arsenal are being linked to Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu in recent days.

The Gunners, who are also pursuing Leicester City's Youri Tielemans for the long term, want to add midfield options to manager Mikel Arteta's squad.

Italian outlet Inter Live states that Arsenal and Aston Villa are the two teams most eager to sign Turkey star Calhanoglu.

The experienced creative star has played 14 of the 15 Serie A matches for Inter so far this term.

However, his contract does run out in 18 months, with Inter reportedly stating that an offer close to £25.8 million would tempt them to sell.

Calhanoglu will be 29 in February, which would make him a different signing to the young players that Arteta has been bringing in at Arsenal in recent years.
