Arsenal have confirmed a new injury setback for Alexander Runarsson.

The summer arrival from Dijon has seen his status drop to third choice since the signing on-loan in January of Mat Ryan from Brighton.

And his unfortunate first season in England has seen him hit by another injury setback.

The Gunners have reported that Runarsson has collected an injury to his left knee: "Alex sustained a strain to his knee in training and is undergoing further assessment."
