Arsenal club chiefs are concerned there's been no new manager bounce after the promotion of Freddie Ljungberg as caretaker.

The Mirror says the club's hierarchy are panicking because they hoped Ljungberg would buy them time before making a permanent appointment.

But there are already fears that Ljungberg's lack of managerial experience is a serious issue and they may have to bring in a manager quickly rather than wait for the right man in the summer.

The Gunners are in the middle of their worst run since 1977 after going nine games without a win.

They must go to West Ham on Monday and then Standard Liege in the Europa League before facing Manchester City in the Premier League.

They were willing to wait to get their first choice but Brendan Rodgers has committed himself to Leicester and Arsenal would have delayed rather than be rushed into a panic appointment.

But they are not likely to have that option and the other issue is that their exhaustive list of candidates is not getting any shorter as they struggle to make a decision.
