Arsenal chiefs confident transfer leaks plugged after Vlahovic mess

Arsenal chiefs are determined to keep things tight during this summer's market.

Football.London says Arsenal management are confident they have stopped the kind of leaks which ultimately derailed their pursuit for Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbian emerged as the Gunners' top transfer priority during the January window, with hopes he would become a direct replacement for the departing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Their attempts to sign the Fiorentina striker were well publicised with the protracted saga seeing him wind up with Italian giants Juventus.

While Mikel Arteta is in charge of the Gunners, they will continue to operate in a manner which doesn't attract too much attention - and thus risk losing out on deals to rivals.

Deals for Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos and Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira were made without the media hullabaloo of the failed Vlahovic pursuit. And there is a belief inside the club that the leaks which rumbled their deal for the Serb have now been plugged.
