Arsenal chief Per Mertesacker feels Mesut Ozil still has much to offer manager Unai Emery.
Ozil has missed all of the last three games in the Premier League and does not appear to be in Emery's first-team plans.
But Mertesacker expects his fellow German to stay and fight for his place in the team.
"Mesut is a player with magical abilities," he said.
“Last time (for the 1-0 won at home to Huddersfield on December 8) he was injured.
“Now I'm curious how he fights back. He can still be very valuable to Arsenal."
