Arsenal chief Edu prepared to see six senior players depart in January

Arsenal chief Edu is prepared to see as many as six senior players depart in January.

Football.London says a number of those departures will include players who are set to become free agents at the end of the season, including Alexandre Lacazette.

The French striker's contract at the Emirates expires at the end of the season and it is believed he is unwilling to extend that beyond the end of the season.

Lacazette will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs from abroad as soon as January 1 and looks destined for a move.

Mohamed Elneny, Eddie Nketiah and Sead Kolasinac are also all out of contract in the summer and Arsenal will be keen to make some money if they can.

Bernd Leno is also said to be considering his options having been ousted as the club's No.1 'keeper by Aaron Ramsdale.

The German hasn't played in the league since the third game of the season and is keen to secure a move away in order to re-establish himself as a top-tier stopper.

Folarin Balogun is a player Arsenal see a bright future for, but they believe a temporary move could help his development, something England Under-21 boss Lee Carsley pushed for earlier this week.
