Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG have all made contact with Barcelona about a January deal for Ousmane Dembele.
Mundo Deportivo says a month ago the message went out via the player's camp that he was ready to leave during the winter market.
And the news attracted Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG, who all made enquiries convinced Barca would be willing to sell at a loss from the €140m they paid Borussia Dortmund last year.
However, Barca have made it clear Dembele won't be allowed to leave next month. Only meeting his €400m buyout clause would see the Frenchman leave.
Leo Messi is key to the decision, insisting no matter Dembele's disciplinary problems he is needed for their Champions League tilt.
