Arsenal caretaker Ljungberg hints recalling Nketiah from Leeds

Arsenal are ready to end Eddie Nketiah's loan at Leeds United.

The Gunners are poised to recall Nketiah from Leeds in January ahead of arranging a new loan for the young striker.

Nketiah joined Marcelo Bielsa's side on a season-long loan in August. The 20 year-old has scored five goals for Leeds despite just two of his 13 appearances being starts.

Asked about the striker's situation, Arsenal caretaker boss Freddie Ljungberg said: "I need to be careful [what I say] but I think Eddie is a great player. If he goes on loan we want him to play football and get minutes otherwise they can maybe be here.

"I feel a bit sorry for him because he is a great player and the future of this club. When he has had his chance he scores goals and that's what he is about."
