Granit Xhaka urges Man Utd, Spurs target Zakaria to stay grounded

Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka is convinced by the potential of Switzerland teammate Denis Zakaria.

Zakaria, 22, plays alongside Xhaka in the Swiss national team and is emerging as one of the big stars in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach. Indeed, so much so that his form this season has Zakaria the subject of intense transfer speculation.

Tottenham, Manchester United and Inter Milan are all watching the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder, says BILD. The German outlet suggest should Gladbach sell, that his fee would surpass their current record sale - €45m.

That price was paid by Arsenal for Zakaria's national teammate Xhaka - who is a big fan of the youngster.

Former Gladbach star Xhaka says: "He is developing enormously.

"With Denis next to me, I always feel a lot more secure in the national team of Switzerland."

Zakaria joined Gladbach two years ago from Young Boys, signing a contract to 2022. With the Bundesliga giants, the midfielder's development has continued at a rapid pace. And his progress has not gone unnoticed by major clubs across Europe.

But Xhaka says the best place for his fellow Swiss is his current club.

Xhaka adds: "He should not float away now, a crucial phase is now dawning for him."
