Arsenal boss Wenger: Welbeck is a different animal after injury absence

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that striker Danny Welbeck has returned from injury a completely 'different animal'.

Welbeck missed the majority of the current campaign with a serious knee injury but since his return back to full fitness in February, the striker has managed to find the back of the net on five occasions already.

The England international grabbed a crucial winner in the 1-0 victory over Norwich City on the weekend and now manager Arsene Wenger has gone on to state that his star striker has looked a 'different animal' after regaining full fitness.

The Frenchman said: "Welbeck came in and played very well [on his comeback], like the players who have been out for nine months always do.

"You have to trust me on that, I know that well - after they come in they are super sharp and then after, against Crystal Palace, he had a very average game and looked a bit for one or two games that he paid for the physical energy he had given.

"So you let them rest one or two games and you bring them back in. [Against Norwich], when he came on, you could see he is a different animal again."
