Arsenal boss Wenger wanted Bramall to go to Holland over Birmingham

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger didn't want Cohen Bramall joining Birmingham City this season, it has been revealed.

The former Hednesford Town defender joined Birmingham this week on-loan for the season.

Bramall signed for the Gunners in January and Wenger had planned to send him abroad to continue his football education.

The defender was the subject of interest from Sparta Rotterdam and Wenger had favoured Bramall moving to Holland over St Andrew's.

However, in the end it was agreed that Bramall join Harry Redknapp's Blues for the campaign.
