Arsenal boss Wenger hopes Gervinho can convince Nasri to stay

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is banking on Gervinho to convince Samir Nasri to sign a new deal.

The Daily Express says Gunners manager Wenger is confident of completing the £10.6 million signing of Ivory Coast forward Gervinho from Lille, with the 24-year-old ready to agree to a four-year contract.

And the transfer will get the thumbs up from contract rebel Nasri, who has told friends it is imperative Arsenal do not let Gervinho slip through the net.

Wenger hopes to have clinched the signing of Gervinho before he returns to England at the start of next week and could also meet Nasri's representatives in the south of France over the weekend.
