Arsenal boss Wenger happy to take time with Eduardo

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger doesn't expect to see Eduardo da Silva firing on all cylinders until January.

Eduardo struck twice in last night's 3-0 Carling Cup defeat of Sheffield United and Wenger said: "It was a quality first strike and technically he played well.

"We do not put any pressure on the timing, we just know when a player comes to a club it takes more or less six months."

England winger Theo Walcott, who hit the post in the second half, was also impressed with Eduardo.

"The first goal came out of nowhere. He showed what he can do," he said. "Throughout the whole season the first team have been doing well and tonight we showed what the rest of the squad are capable of."
