Arsenal boss Wenger: Cup start good test for Vela

Arsenal striker Carlos Vela will start in their Carling Cup clash with Tottenham.

The 21-year-old came off the bench to net a brace in the 6-0 Champions League win over Braga to take his season tally to three goals.

"It is about starting the game, carrying the responsibility to be the main striker and showing that you can deal with that. I believe that Carlos can - but then again you have to turn up at the right moment," manager Arsene Wenger said.

"It is a massive opportunity for him, he has worked very hard from the beginning of the season.

"He is a different player to what he was last year when it wasn't easy going sometimes. He has a more mature attitude now."
