Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he swooped for Sebastien Squillaci on advice from an agent.

The French defender signed for Arsenal from Sevilla in a whirlwind deal.

And Wenger revealed: "People are often critical of agents, but one of them told me that Squillaci was affordable and it was something I did not know about.

"I tried for another defender, but did not find one, so we took him."
