Arsenal boss Unai Emery has hopes of signing two players this week.
The Gunners are in talks with Inter Milan over a deal for Ivan Perisic but the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement.
There also remain hopes a deal can be reached for Barcelona's Denis Suarez while the club have also been linked with moves for James Rodriguez, on loan at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain's Christopher Nkunku.
And ahead of Tuesday's Premier League home clash against Cardiff, when asked how many players he expected to bring in, Emery said: “Nil or possibly two. Between nil and two. If they aren't coming to help us like we want, then we would prefer them to not come. Two, because we are looking at two different players who have the possibility to come here.
“[A deal for Perisic] is one thing the club is working on, the possibility with different players. I don't know exactly which players, but it's players with the possibility to help us who can play on the wing, right or left."
