Arsenal manager Unai Emery has admitted that he almost subbed off Alexandre Lacazette before his opening goal against Everton.
Lacazette opened the scoring for the Gunners with a stunning strike from the edge of the area.
But Emery was about to make a change, as he felt his team were not doing enough to break down Everton's back line.
The Gunners eventually ran out 2-0 winners in the game.
"Yes," he said to Arsenal's official website.
"We needed to change something in this moment to give us another individual quality on the pitch.
"Then we scored the goal and I decided to stop it and think again about who we need next."
Asked specifically if Lacazette is the one who would have come off, he said:
"I don't think it's important, but maybe yes! Football is like that."
