Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes his team is heading in the right direction.
The Gunners boss celebrated another unlikely cup result, this time defeating Premier League champions Liverpool on penalties.
It is a result that puts Arsenal in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup, and Arteta was pleased with the team, who had to rely on penalties to seal the game after a 0-0 draw at Anfield.
"We still have lots to learn but we are on the right path," the Spaniard said post-game.
"It is the third time in about eight weeks we have played against the best team in Europe, in my opinion, and it is a step forward for my team.
"We want to treat every competition as an opportunity to win a trophy, we have to do that for the club we represent and we will do that."
