Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits he's a fan of Manchester City defender John Stones.

However, he insists Stones isn't on his shopping list.

Arteta told talkSPORT: “John is a player I really liked and we followed him before we signed him when I was at City and I worked with him for many years and know him well.

“Obviously when I look at centre-backs he's got many attributes I like from one, but we are not interested in him."

The Gunners meet Sheffield United this weekend and Arteta also said of Blades manager Chris Wilder: “The work he's done is phenomenal. What I like about a manager is when I see his team is a real team and it's very clear what he's trying to do.

“I'm a big admirer."
