Arsenal boss Arteta sets challenge for Tierney

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has no doubts about the potential of Kieran Tierney.

The full-back arrived in north London from Celtic for £25m – but also brought a hip injury with him.

After recovering in October, the 22-year-old has made 12 appearances in the famous red and white strip, even registering two assists.

Appearing on a video call with Ian Wright, the Gunners hero heaped praise on the Scot.

And the boss said: “I totally agree with you.

“I'm looking forward to working with him and giving him the opportunity to play.

“His commitment is incredible.

“I think he's going to bring something special to us. It's been a shame but it's also part of his development."

Arteta went on to send a message to the Scot about how he should approach his injury recovery.

“I have challenged him and said 'Kieran, how are you going to react to that?'

“The level of pressure is a bit higher now.

“He's playing with a top club now – deal with it.

“He has everything to be successful here, the best possible attitude.

“He should enjoy it."
