Arsenal boss Arteta says he backs Gabriel '100%' in Henderson row

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says Gabriel Magalhaes has his full backing as the FA probe his row with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

Disciplinary chiefs are probing a stoppage time incident reported by referee Michael Oliver following an angry on-pitch row between Arsenal defender Gabriel and Henderson.

It is understood that the players and the rival managers submitted further observations to Oliver after the match and the referee included those comments in his report to the FA.

Asked whether he fully supported his players' version of events, Arteta said last night: “Yes, 100 per cent.

“The FA is in charge of that situation and we will have to wait and see what happens. I don't know how long it will take. It's difficult to predict the timing of these things.

“It's something I don't want to touch. It's in the FA's hands and I'm not going to get involved in that."
