Arsenal boss Arteta refuses to be forced into Xhaka sale

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta refuses to rush any decision over the sale of Granit Xhaka.

The Swiss star has told Arsenal he wants to join Hertha Berlin in a £21.5million January deal.

But new Arsenal boss Arteta is still taking stock of the squad he inherited from Unai Emery and not planning to release anyone straight away, says The Sun.

He wants all hands on deck to sort the current mess and regards Xhaka's experience and tactical awareness as crucial.

And that could put him on a collision course with Xhaka, 27, who is determined to go after being stripped of the armband by Emery.
