Arsenal boss Arteta hails Xhaka: He had faith and courage to face the problem

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was delighted with Granit Xhaka's performance in their FA Cup final triumph over Chelsea.

Arteta is confident the fans are now again behind the Swiss after his blow-up earlier in the season.

Arteta said: "He is a really good example of this, but the players have to be willing and they have to have the personality and the workrate he has.

"You need to have faith and courage to face the problem, to slowly start to knock down the wall and start to enjoy the profession in the way he deserves.

"We were just there to support him a little bit and to give him a little bit of advice. We were right behind him. The rest was up to him and he deserves credit for that.

"Hopefully they can see what we are trying to do and they can be involved even more. It's a great group of lads to manage. We know our strengths and weaknesses, but we know the effort and commitment we have put in every training session and in every game. As a manager, this is what you want."
