Arsenal boss Arteta expects market work to intensify after FA Cup exit

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says their market work will pick up after Saturday's FA Cup defeat by Southampton.

After the disappointing defeat to Southampton, questions in his post-match press conference soon turned to possible reinforcements, but the boss was not able to confirm any new acquisition yet.

"Obviously we played today, so since last night I don't have any news" he said. "Probably, I will get a few phone calls today and see where we are with every deal."

When asked what the introduction of new players would mean for his existing young talent, the manager replied: "I cannot talk about any player who is not ours.

"We have a very clear idea of how we want our players to develop and what they need to do that. All the decisions we make are just to reinforce their development and try to give them the best possible chance."
