Arsenal boss Arteta desperate to take Euro scoring form into Premier League

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has challenged his Premier League side to express themselves like his Europa League stars.

Arsenal have performed like two very different teams in their two main competitions this season, looking fearful and restricted in the league but free-scoring with the shackles off in Europe.

Arteta said: "At the end the boxes are defining what we do in games. And it's true that in the opponents' box we haven't been as resilient and ruthless as we have to be. We have paid for that with some results.

"In the Europa we find ourselves with more flow and more creativity in the final third, I would say. More “Let's go for it, and let's express ourselves".

"Obviously the opponent [in the Europa League] is not the same but it's something to look at.

"We try to encourage them to play with that freedom. We have a lot of squad rotation in the team for many different reasons, some because of injuries, some because of their performances and obviously the challenges we have faced, we have played some big teams in the first nine games.

"That is something we obviously have to improve, and we are trying to improve."
