Arsenal boss Arteta delighted with Wolves rout; happy for 2-goal Xhaka

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was left delighted with their 5-0 rout of Wolves.

Arteta was happy to see Granit Xhaka score twice as his departure was confirmed.

He said, "We had to wrap it up in the best possible way, playing the way we have the whole season and winning the match. It was a beautiful day."

On Xhaka, he continued: "He did what he needed to do and he has done it the whole season. He has been magnificent for us.

"I had the opportunity to say thank you. He is a player who had a special story and he has been integral.

"It is part of my job to make the decisions that are best for the club. His story is really nice."

On the season, Arteta added: "Together we have reconnected with the soul of the club, and the soul of our club is the fans. We know the destination is to bring success and trophies to this club but we must not forget to enjoy the journey.

"It is a special group of players, staff and supporters and it is great to chase that dream with them.

"We have the third best record in our club and it is not enough to win. We know the quality we are facing so we have to seek to be better."
