Arsenal boss Arteta: Brighton created inconvenience

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that failing to sign Brighton star Moises Caicedo was not ideal.

The club were hoping to secure the central midfielder in the January transfer window.

However, Brighton refused to sell, resulting in Arsenal moving on to Chelsea's Jorginho instead.

Arsenal take on Everton in the Premier League this weekend.

“We knew that in this market you have to adapt and be flexible and ready for inconvenience," Arteta said in his press conference on Friday.

“We had a big one with Mo [Elneny] and we needed a player in that position. (Jorginho's) a great character who'll bring leadership and quality in that position."
