Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits Nicolas Pepe's performance hasn't been up to expectations.

Arteta concedes the summer arrival from Lille is frustrated with what he's been able to produce thus far.

He revealed, “The level of Nicolas's form was inconsistent, it's not the level that he is able to show.

"Pepe was the first to understand this. He must demonstrate a good game every 3 days, I demand this from players of his level. Also, he must be able to work, and he knows that.

"Nicolas is a great guy, he is trying hard. One must respect the way he adapted in his first year in England. There have been many changes in his life. I think now he is ready and we can get the most out of him."
