Arsenal have approached Lille for former Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou.

The Daily Star says Kalou was available for £2.5m in the last transfer window due to a clause in his contract.

But that no longer applies and French side Lille have slapped a £5m fee on the Ivory Coast striker.

Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham are also interested, along with Liverpool, Everton and Monaco.
