Arsenal and Tottenham target Malcom declares: I'm leaving Bordeaux this summer

Malcom has declared Bordeaux have promised he can leave the club this summer.

The Arsenal and Tottenham target tried to push through a move last month. But the club rejected his request, with new manager Gus Poyet revealing he wouldn't have taken up the role had he not been assured the Brazilian would remain in France.

The 20-year-old has shown flashes on immense potential in Ligue One this season, and it seems clubs will have a chance to secure his services come season's end.

"Yes, there was a promise that I will be negotiating in June," Malcom has now told Brazilian outlet UOL. "I will choose the team, and Bordeaux will let me go."

He added: "I already said that I would have liked to leave this winter to meet new challenges.

"But I must also remember that Bordeaux helped me a lot.

"I gave my word to Bordeaux that I will continue [with the club] to be able to have more time to choose my future club.

"These next three or four months will make a big difference."
