Arsenal and Brighton agree fee for Ben White

Arsenal and Brighton have agreed a fee for Ben White.

The Athletic reports Albion were adamant they would earn at least £50million for White and with Arsenal finally meeting that valuation, they will reluctantly sell.

At £50m, White will become the club's most expensive defender usurping the £36.9m paid to Valencia for Shkodran Mustafi in 2016.

The deal will also signify the third largest outlay in Arsenal history with only Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe costing more.

The Brighton defender's arrival will also serve to back up Arteta's claim that the club's owners are still fully committed to the cause.

The Kroenke's have come under fire in recent months thanks to the European Super League, but speaking at the end of the season, he suggested they were still fully behind the project.
