Argentinos Juniors forward Barrera lands at Chivas USA

Chivas USA's late offseason recruiting binge has continued with news that Andreas Barrera has joined from Argentinos Juniors.

The 23-year old Argentine forward has joined the Goats on loan with the view to a permanent deal after spending the past six seasons in Buenos Aires.

Barrera will become an official part of Chivas' roster once his International transfer Certificate is received.

"Leandro is a fast, left-footed player who gives us a lot of possibilities in the attack," said Los Rojiblancos head coach Wilmer Cabrera.

"Though young, his experience, speed and his good technique are characteristics that are always welcome in this league. He is also very motivated and has a very strong desire to be here with us."

Barrera, who made 42 appearances for Argentinos for three goals, joins recent Goats signings Agustin Pelletieri, Daniel Fragoso and Luke Moore in southern California.
