Appleton says West Brom not giving up on Portsmouth defender Wilson

West Bromwich Albion coach Michael Appleton has confirmed their pursuit of Portsmouth defender Marc Wilson.

Portsmouth have rejected a second bid for utility man Wilson, but he could yet move to The Hawthorns.

"We have put a second bid in, and they have not accepted it. That is where we are at the minute. Who knows if we will put a third bid in or not," Appleton said.

"He is a good player, they have got a price, we have got a price and if we can agree something by the end of the week, we will, if not we will move on.

"One or two new faces would lift things again, but it is one thing wanting them and getting them in is another."
