Manchester United could be the subject of a takeover bid from a technology powerhouse.
Per the Daily Star, technology giants Apple are considering buying the English Premier League club in a mouth-watering £5.8 billion deal.
United are officially up for sale, per a statement from the owners on the club's website this week.
Apple bosses are said to have expressed an interest in securing United, given its global recognition and value potential.
The tech giant certainly boasts the financial muscle to make a deal happen, even at the reported prices.
However, Apple has little to no experience in managing a football club, given its technology specialty.
