China's Wanda Sports Group (WSG) and its Infront sports marketing agency have joined the bidding for a stake in Italian soccer's Serie A top flight, according to reports in Italy.
Wanda has apparently been given the go ahead to enter a joint offer following a general assembly held on 13th July by Lega Serie A, the league's governing body, and opening the door for investment talks, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
In doing so, Wanda-Infront joins six private equity firms to have already submitted investment proposals to the soccer body.
The investment is being sought to address the €500 million (US$526 million) financial impact of Covid-19 on Serie A's clubs.
