Vurnon Anita has welcomed increased competition at Newcastle United.

The Dutchman is competing with the likes of Cheick Tiote and Jack Colback for a place in midfield.

"It's good, of course, but I think everybody needs to be focused, keep on going, play well and to make it difficult for everybody and bring everybody's levels up," he told nufc.co.uk.
