Finnish video game developer Rovio is "entertaining the possibilities" of extending its sleeve sponsorship deal with Everton, Kai Torstila, the company's marketing director, told the Off The Pitch website, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
Rovio partnered with Everton in 2017 to have the logo of its Angry Birds franchise appear on the left sleeve of the Premier League club's playing shirts in a deal worth a reported UK£500,000 (US$608,000) per season.
Now, with the multi-year deal set to expire at the end of this season, Torstila hinted that the company would be interested in prolonging the partnership.
"While the original agreement expires at the end of this season, we've seen significant upsides with this partnership and are entertaining the possibilities of a continuation with the team," he said, in a statement issued to Off The Pitch.
Torstila also described the partnership as "a successful one", adding that Rovio's sleeve sponsorship of Everton had achieved the company's aim of "increased awareness" for the Angry Birds brand.
He continued: "In addition, with the Premier League reaching one billion households globally, we also saw a significant media value upside. The nature of the Angry Birds brand within the Premier League created an unprecedented amount of media and social media interest."
