Angelino hailed Manchester City's spirit for their 2-1 win over Southampton.

City trailed to an early James Ward-Prowse goal and did not equalise until Sergio Aguero scored with their first shot on target on 70 minutes, with Kyle Walker hitting their late winner.

“We didn't give up," Angelino reflected. “We are a strong team with a strong attitude and we showed it.

“We had a tough game – they gave us a hard time, trying to lose time. It worked quite well.

“We fought until the end and got the win. We know we've got quality players up top and we knew the chances would come – top players will finish their chances.

“Kyle had a really good game – he got an assist and a goal: what more can you ask for? It was a strong game from everyone.

“It feels great to get my first 90 minutes in the Premier League. Hopefully, there will be more to come.

“We have to keep working all together."
