Angel Gomes gave a timely reminder of his finishing ability and Diogo Dalot make his comeback from injury, reports the Manchester Evening News.

D'mani Mellor's first half goal put United in control, with Milan providing a stern test for a young but talented United outfit, led by Nicky Butt.

And after Gomes had played through Ethan Laird to create the opener, the diminutive playmaker put the game to bed with a fine late goal, before Tahith Chong made it 3-0 from the penalty spot with the final kick of the game.

Right-back Dalot enjoyed a 70-minute run-out. The Portuguese defender had been sidelined since coming off with a groin problem but looked back to full fitness.
